BENGALURU: Six of a single family were found dead in their MPM layout home in Bengaluru West on Thursday morning.
Police said there were no movements since Tuesday and the neighbours suspected foul play on Thursday morning and alerted the Jnanabhrathi police.
“We have first found three bodies on the bed through the windows standing outside the house.
In the presence of eyewitnesses we broke open the front door and entered the house to find the entire family of six dead. The head of the family Gangahanumaiah, 57, a BSNL employee was found hanging while others were found dead in their bed apparently due to poisoning. We are trying to find out the reasons for tragic incident after contacting the other family members,” DCP (West) Labhu Ram told TOI.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Gangahanumaiah’s wife Jayalakshmamma, 54, a housewife, their first daughter and an employee of MNC software company Hemalatha, second daughter Vimala, an employee of Railways, third daughter Nethravathi is studying in Ambedkar engineering College and son Yatish, is doing his degree course but has been facing problems at his academics.
The neighbours said the household which were residing in the house since last six years had told their maid servant not to come to work on Tuesday. “The family might have ended their lives on Tuesday night itself, but things will be clear once the autopsy is done,” said a police officer.
